Community Guidelines
Effective date: 3 July 2026 Last updated: 3 July 2026
hungr is a place to discover food and share honest recommendations with friends. These Community Guidelines explain what is and is not allowed. They apply to everything you post: reviews, photos, captions, notes, profile details, usernames, and messages. By using hungr you agree to follow them, alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
We built hungr to be friendly and useful. The rules below exist to keep it that way.
Who can use hungr
You must be at least 16 years old to use hungr. hungr is not intended for anyone under 16.
Post honestly
- Review places you have actually been to, and describe your genuine experience.
- Do not post fake, paid, or incentivised reviews, and do not review your own business to inflate it.
- Do not impersonate another person, business, or hungr itself.
- Do not spam, post repetitive content, or use hungr mainly to advertise or drive traffic elsewhere.
Be respectful
- No harassment, bullying, threats, or targeted abuse of any person or business.
- No hate speech or content that attacks or demeans people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, gender, gender identity, or sexual orientation.
- Criticising a restaurant is fine. Attacking or threatening the people who work there is not.
Keep it safe and legal
- No sexual or pornographic content, nudity, or content that sexualises minors in any way.
- No content that promotes violence, self harm, illegal drugs, weapons, or other illegal activity.
- No sharing of other people's private information (for example home address, phone number, or private messages) without their consent.
Photos and content you post
- Only upload photos of food, drinks, and places, or content you have the right to share.
- Do not upload photos that focus on other people without their consent, and never upload images of children.
- Do not post copyrighted images, logos, or content that you do not have permission to use.
- You keep ownership of what you post, but you give hungr permission to display it in the app as described in our Terms of Service.
Reporting and blocking
If you see something that breaks these guidelines, tell us:
- Report a review, a photo, or an account using the report option (the "•••" menu on a profile, and the report action on a review or photo). Reports are anonymous to the person you report.
- Block an account from their profile to stop seeing them and stop them interacting with you.
We review reports and act on content that breaks these rules. We aim to review each report promptly, usually within 24 hours. You can also email us at elijahtanshian@gmail.com.
What happens when rules are broken
Depending on how serious the issue is, we may:
- remove the content;
- warn the account;
- limit, suspend, or permanently remove the account.
We may act faster and more strictly for content that puts people at risk, and we may report illegal activity to the relevant authorities.
Changes
We may update these guidelines as hungr grows. When we make a meaningful change we will update the date at the top. Continuing to use hungr after a change means you accept the updated guidelines.
